Live Oak Canopy - Newest Painting

Here's Helen's latest watercolor entitled "Live Oak Canopy".  This scene is from Middleton Plantation.  In a couple of days, it should be framed and hanging in the gallery.   Enjoy!

Oils on Copper!

We're proud to announce the addition of Kent Lovelace to our family of artists at Indigo.  He is truly a master artist who creates stunning Oils on Copper!  Be sure to stop by and see his work during Charleston's last Art Walk of 2010...this Friday from 5-8pm.

Visiting Old Friends (my paintings)

Friday, I was invited to visit the home of Nancy and Ray H., who now own several of my pieces.  This one hangs in their dining room and is entitled "Mepkin View III".  The scene is one that the monks of Mepkin Abbey get to enjoy daily!  I had gone to the Abbey to see the creches that were displayed during the 2009 holiday season.  I left the creche display with a peaceful feeling, and then I wandered down to the water's edge in the misty rain.  The result was this painting.  That scene has inspired another three paintings (one of which is ALSO owned by this family, and hangs in their parlor, next to the dining room).  It was nice to visit my old friends!

Can art help you de-stress?

You bet art can help you de-stress!
Today I heard two different collectors tell me that these two paintings just made them feel so calm and peaceful!  I guess that's a pretty good thing for our art to do!
Tip:  Blues & Greens will lend a calming effect to any room.

New Artist: New Work!

Indigo is proud to introduce Charleston to its new featured artist, Dolores Poacelli, who hails from Philly!  Dolores paints in acrylic, collage and gold leaf.  It's going to be interesting to watch the viewer go through their "aha" moment when they first associate their own impression of a piece with the whimsical titles of the pieces.  Ms. Poacelli's work is now hanging in the gallery...
